Free Webinar Series: Environmental Literacy in History-Social Science

Are you looking to tap into your students’ interest in the environment? Are you interested in the new History-Social Framework and its inquiry model? These free webinars are geared toward the history-social science classroom and will highlight elements of the Framework that are supported by California’s Environmental Principles and Concepts (EP&Cs). Teachers receive inquiry-based lesson materials with grade-appropriate content and literacy support.

  • Introduction for all grade level teachers: How Does Environmental Literacy Support Learning in the History-Social Science Classroom? October 25, 4-5 p.m.
    • This 50 minute presentation incorporates California’s Environmental Principles and Concepts into history-social science content and is aligned with the new HSS Framework inquiry model. You will find classroom-ready materials for download, including lessons, images, and recommended questions and classroom activities for promoting environmental literacy.
